Mantle Developments CEO and Founder, Ryan Zizzo, has been recognized as one of four consultants named to Canada’s Clean50 2024 awards. Each year, Clean50 recognizes Canada’s outstanding sustainability leaders and innovators. Ryan has been recognized for his invaluable contributions to embodied carbon regulation in Canadian construction.
Pairing innovative research with new thinking on green building consulting, Ryan and the team at Mantle supported the City of Toronto’s creation of North America’s first cap on embodied carbon in new construction. Ryan was also instrumental in the development of the federal government’s Standard on Embodied Carbon in Construction, which requires all major federal construction projects to use lower-carbon concrete, leading to a 10% reduction in the embodied carbon footprint of concrete used in federal construction.
